This “SkyStones” novella is part of “the SkyStone Chronicles” and is set on a world called Arah and tells of the power struggles between the different races living there.
Light Elves (and their descendants Snow Elves and Desert Elves), Dark Elves (Light Elves twisted by dark magic), Dwarves and Humans (including Wild Men and Snow Men tribes) fight for power and rule while SkyStones imbue magic on those who wield them.
The SkyStones (eight different stones with different power sets) were a gift (or a curse, depending on who you ask) from the SkyGod, who brought them to Arah in a hail of meteorites descending from the sky.
Ever since the SkyStones came into the lives of the inhabitants of Arah, there has been war and strife for possession of the stones, for rule and for power.

Stannon Dark Elve, once holder of the SkyStone of energy & lighting, his source of power, lost the war almost two hundred years ago. When his purple SkyStone was stolen from him, his conquest of the main lands came to a grinding halt and he had to retreat back to the Burning Isles, a place he took away from the Snow Elves long ago.
But he is still bent on conquering it all. He sets some new plans in motion to aid him in an eventual conquest. He sends an army against the Humans, and he himself goes on a secret mission that should help him get back to eventual glory and rule.

Lõpp, algus

Kõhklev päike piilub üle silmapiiri, säästlikult oma võlu kiirtega, püüdes talve ajast jäänud külma aeglaselt soojendada. Kõhklev kevad piilub üle silmapiiri, külma ja sooja vahele kinni, püüdes aeglaselt tühja ruumi kätte saada.

Viimane õis
jääkristalli valge
sulab kollases valguses.

Esimene õis
lumikelluke valge
õitseb kollases valguses.

Constrained, but not chained

In body I am still the same
there has occurred no change, except for age
the mind however, now that’s a totally different game
the mind is not stuck in this cage…

It is not bound, to earth, to tread
to all the different ways we tend to waste our lives
nor to the setting of the sail, or to seas of dread
to nothing chained at all it thrives…

Not constrained it is, to death, to time
nor to the many ways we know how to destroy each other
the mind is free, and it can learn to fly
so from earthly woes it has no bother…

The mind is truly marvelous
whatever body it inhabits or calls its cage
the mind, the power, immortal excellence
once from body disengaged…

Mind over matter, does one say
it sounds a wonder, but is no lie indeed
it is in us, shallow, deep, just look inside
find the truth, and heed…

In body I am flesh and blood
In mind, a god…

I have no master but my fate...

It’s not nihilism, there’s no point in fretting,
what will come, will come, I have no fear.
But still, with all this life that’s happening around,
there are questions to be asked, answers I want to hear…

What do you see when you put your eye on the distance?
When you put your ear to the horizon, what do you hear?
What do you feel when you push against the resistance of life?
Do you know, do you fear, what’s drawing near?

There are a lot of thoughts floating around in my head,
but none of them sound any alarms.
The world turns, the sun burns, tomorrow comes,
yesterday’s gone, and that’s life charm.

But how does it happen for you, do you feel that life falls upon you?
How does it come into your open arms?
How does it rise from the moon, these cool ideas?
Does it just fall from the sun, these thoughts of warmth?

I have no idea where it lives, where it sleeps,
and how does it feed, and upon what…
The meat can be tenderized, but that doesn’t mean it’s edible.

Does it eat at all? Then why does it kill?
Is it straight up murder, does it target both healthy and ill?
The moral dilemma is there for all to see, but is it credible?

I always thought I am a slave to my basic urges,
but never knew my master.
I want to go to the end, free as a bird,
but I’m nearing the grave only faster and faster.

I cannot fathom the immensity of the cosmos,
and evolution is stranger, wider and vaster
than any that has hitherto been entertained in the ranks of science.
I can make an educated guess, but I (like all) am not a forecaster.

And so I say to me, to you, to all that will listen,
live life full, be nice and understanding, and be great,
for we are only here in the now, not later.
So be your own master, for we have no other than our fate.

Like Atlas.

I see your words - they are old words  -
that are heavier than the world.
I read between the lines and feel the pain
of the cracks forming at the edges of your heart.

I would hate to see yours leak your soul.
Mine is already seeping.

I would lighten you, if you would let me.
I would mend your cracks as you would plaster mine.
We could share our loads and divide the burden.
We could carry the world together, wide and far.

Atlas would be proud.
Zeus would be weeping.

Undying love, the nonsensical sense…

Sometimes I am thinking thoughts
about the whole of it all
and where does it go.

This is the game, this is the life
a sense of love, a sense of strife
but sometimes thoughts are thinking me…

Both dreams and nightmares are drawing lots
leaving choice to fate
whatever the stakes,

to find that sense, that proclamation
of the moment that you find that exclamation
when you see to which one it will be…

Be it will, or destiny, make what you may
following a larger plan
or just a random act,

when both faith and fate collide their worlds
and the path behind goes under, the path before unfurls
I go on, take the next step and follow through…

Come the good, or ill, or even Death's game play,
there is something that will never yield
to the ravages of time
that’ll never be kneeled
before any shrine,

come the end in burning fire or in freezing ice
I won’t blink nor falter, nor even think twice
I will push through; I still will come for you…

Kadunud kallim (2 osa)

Kadunud kallim.

Kui kõik on möödas; on tõde mõru
aga kes arvata oskas seda
mis see elu meile toob?
Kuula, linnuke siristab “head-ööd”
su kodu räästas
enne kui ta laulu loob.

Lehepungad väätidel on villased
ma nägin seda täna
nad tuulemängus rapuvad
päev ei ole neid veel lõhkunud
ja punane ei ole muutunud halliks
aga puud ja põõsad ärkavad.

Homme me kohtume taas, kallis
tohin su käsi oma kätega võtta
tahan puuduta su pehme nahk
sõbrad oleme, kullake - sõbrad
loobun paljust mille eest hoolin
mille eest unistan kogu aeg.

Su silmade sära ja sügavus
hoian neid oma südames
niikaua kui see veel lööb
su kellukesera kõlav hääl
jääb alatiseks mu hinge
nagu saaga mis ei lõpe.

Tahan ütelda mida sõbrad ütlevad
sest nii palju öeldud hääleta
ehki üks tunne on tugevam
sa siin, ei taha rohkem
ehk hoian su käsi nii kaua kui võin
või ehk natuke kauem.

Kadunud kallim
- see teine mõte -

Tõde? Mis see ikka on?
See mõru.
Kes ikka tahab seda kuulda?
Palju tahan öelda sul
oma südamest
aga ei tea kuidas öelda.

Elu toob mis elu toob
las’ linnukene väikselt siristab
ega uusi noote ta ei too
niiet suled sirgu
see laul on juba ammu loon’d.

Ilm on ikka sama muutlik
vahest vihm, vahest ei
nagu tormituul mu sees
ning tuul see lööb neid lehed segi
vahet pole mis ma teen.

Värvid kogu aeg muut’vad
hallist värvi rohelist
kollast pruuniks ka
ning punane seal raputab
aga mitte nagu tunne sees
see tunne mis mu hinges närib
see aina rohkem ärkab.

 Millal kohtume taas, kallis?
Tahan su käsi oma kätega võtta
tahan puuduta su pehme nahk
tahan puuduta su pehmed huuled
ning olla rohkem kui ainult sõbrad.

Üks unistus, see kogu aeg
see virvendab mu peas
loobun kõikest sinu eest
kõik patud annaks ära kaest
su armastus teeks heaks.

 Sa särad, ma vaatan
sügavalt silmades sa särad
see võtab mu hinge kinni
üks sõna vaid, su huultes
üks pilk, üks naer
su ilusa naolt
hoian südametes kinni.

Tahan ütelda palju
aga mitte nagu sõbrad
sest tunned on kõik tugevam
sa seal, ma siin
tahan rohkem
tahan kõike
tahan sind
tahan hoida su käsi nii kaua kui võin
ning kindlasti ka kauem.
