I have no master but my fate...

It’s not nihilism, there’s no point in fretting,
what will come, will come, I have no fear.
But still, with all this life that’s happening around,
there are questions to be asked, answers I want to hear…

What do you see when you put your eye on the distance?
When you put your ear to the horizon, what do you hear?
What do you feel when you push against the resistance of life?
Do you know, do you fear, what’s drawing near?

There are a lot of thoughts floating around in my head,
but none of them sound any alarms.
The world turns, the sun burns, tomorrow comes,
yesterday’s gone, and that’s life charm.

But how does it happen for you, do you feel that life falls upon you?
How does it come into your open arms?
How does it rise from the moon, these cool ideas?
Does it just fall from the sun, these thoughts of warmth?

I have no idea where it lives, where it sleeps,
and how does it feed, and upon what…
The meat can be tenderized, but that doesn’t mean it’s edible.

Does it eat at all? Then why does it kill?
Is it straight up murder, does it target both healthy and ill?
The moral dilemma is there for all to see, but is it credible?

I always thought I am a slave to my basic urges,
but never knew my master.
I want to go to the end, free as a bird,
but I’m nearing the grave only faster and faster.

I cannot fathom the immensity of the cosmos,
and evolution is stranger, wider and vaster
than any that has hitherto been entertained in the ranks of science.
I can make an educated guess, but I (like all) am not a forecaster.

And so I say to me, to you, to all that will listen,
live life full, be nice and understanding, and be great,
for we are only here in the now, not later.
So be your own master, for we have no other than our fate.

Like Atlas.

I see your words - they are old words  -
that are heavier than the world.
I read between the lines and feel the pain
of the cracks forming at the edges of your heart.

I would hate to see yours leak your soul.
Mine is already seeping.

I would lighten you, if you would let me.
I would mend your cracks as you would plaster mine.
We could share our loads and divide the burden.
We could carry the world together, wide and far.

Atlas would be proud.
Zeus would be weeping.

Undying love, the nonsensical sense…

Sometimes I am thinking thoughts
about the whole of it all
and where does it go.

This is the game, this is the life
a sense of love, a sense of strife
but sometimes thoughts are thinking me…

Both dreams and nightmares are drawing lots
leaving choice to fate
whatever the stakes,

to find that sense, that proclamation
of the moment that you find that exclamation
when you see to which one it will be…

Be it will, or destiny, make what you may
following a larger plan
or just a random act,

when both faith and fate collide their worlds
and the path behind goes under, the path before unfurls
I go on, take the next step and follow through…

Come the good, or ill, or even Death's game play,
there is something that will never yield
to the ravages of time
that’ll never be kneeled
before any shrine,

come the end in burning fire or in freezing ice
I won’t blink nor falter, nor even think twice
I will push through; I still will come for you…
