And the world turned, so I saw,
life was rushing by,
I took a step, to get ahead,
but all I could was try.
And the world turned, mountains crushing,
seas were washing dry,
I took again, a step ahead,
still life was rushing by.
And the world turned, without answer,
to the question why,
I stepped again, but this time back,
and prepared myself to die.
And the world turned, as I lay down,
took my fate and sighed,
a tear then flowed, a second one,
I held my breath and cried.
Then the world stopped turning, came to rest,
besides me sat, and smiled,
in heart and soul the silence set,
as I finally knew why.
